This is Cairngorm scenery at its finest, a gigantic ovular mountainous bowl, where frowning crags gaze down on a sparkling loch. For a wild camp, there’s a small beach. Alternatively, there's the option of the Shelter Stone, a remarkable boulder that's been providing refuge for hikers, climbers and mountaineers for generations.
