Taking advantage of this tongue of sea that goes inland forming the Natural Port of l'Estany, the first fishermen of Ametlla took advantage of it to leave their boats until the current port was built.
Already removed from the old fishing tasks, this natural port now unfolds, as a ravine, a whole ecological value: the vegetation is extensive, typical of the area, and includes pine forests, garrics or margallons, among other species. The quality of the seabed also makes it an ideal place to practice scuba diving, although you have to be careful with the gusts of wind that occasionally ripple the waters.
