The six-lane widening of the A 3 from west of the Rohrbrunn junction to west of the Hasel Viaduct had a length of five kilometers. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 30, 2016. It was part of the six-lane widening of the A 3 federal autobahn from Aschaffenburg to Würzburg.
Due to this expansion of the A 3, the state road St 2312 had to be relocated over a length of 1.8 km before the motorway expansion. At the beginning of September 2017, the new route of the St 2312 was connected to the new, highly visible overpass structure of the A 3, the Monobogen. The mono arch is certainly a visual highlight of this section of the motorway.
