The mill 't Vliegend Hert on the Molenstraat is a post mill built in 1985. It stands as a mill on the ramparts of the city, on the site where a flour mill has stood since the seventeenth century. Until 1696 this was a post mill, which was replaced in that year by a stone scaffolding mill. That mill burned down in the night of 2 to 3 November 1810 and was rebuilt in 1811. This also burned down in 1882. After this, the mill was demolished and no new mill was built in its place, until in 1970, during a restoration of the fortress, the dice from the old post mill were found. It was decided to build a mill on this that would be a replica of the former post mill.
