The wooden church in Flåm dates from 1667. The altarpiece, dating from 1681, depicts mountains and peasant costumes. The decorations in the choir are from the same period and feature vine-trunk patterns. During the 1967 restoration, an old robe was found that had been used as an antependium until 1930. After examination, it was determined to be a knight's cloak from 1300, woven in Venice. This is the only piece found in the country.
