Many of the Caminos de Santiago pass through this square when entering Santiago de Compostela. The monument was inaugurated in 2005, during the World Conference for Peace, Solidarity and Development. Currently it serves as a tribute to pilgrims.

The first thing you see in the Plaza de la Concordia is the sign of Santiago de Compostela. It's a great spot for a photo, especially when entering Santiago from the Camino de Santiago. A very large monument stands here that looks like a door, with sculptures/statues on one side. The gate is in a spacious open field with lawn and trees.
