The terminal at the Warnemünde passenger quay was officially opened on May 1, 2005. It consists of a steel and glass construction and has a total area of almost 3,000 square meters. On the ground floor, in addition to a 1,600 square meter hall, there are another 500 square meters for functional and processing rooms, e.g. for customs and the federal police.
For reasons of flood protection, the technical rooms of the building are located on the upper floor. Around 2,500 cubic meters of concrete, 200 deep foundation piles, 200 tons of steel and 1,500 square meters of glass were needed to build the cruise terminal. The costs for the Warnemünde Cruise Center amounted to approx. 5.5 million euros.
The building has seven entrances and exits on both the land and sea side. In the large hall there are information systems that give the cruise guests an initial orientation about offers in Warnemünde, Rostock and the surrounding area.
The Warnemünde Cruise Center offers cruise guests a high level of service and is designed for a passenger turnover of up to 2,500 people per day. It thus offers shipping companies ideal conditions for cruises to the North and Baltic Seas.
