Decades ago near Berg there were many such bathing spots on the canal during the summertime, the "Loderbacher- and Heinrichsburgbrücke, further the Hausheimer Straße, Kettenbach-Überfahrt and the Sollacher Tore, which have all fallen into oblivion. Until ex-mayor Helmut Himmler created a new opportunity to build a suitable bathing area in the form of a swimming pontoon with an adjacent leisure area on the Röthbrücke.
