The approximately eleven-acre Oberteich is located in the city of Schönberg, northwest of the historic core area around St. Lawrence Church and the market square. It is surrounded by a park dominating the cityscape with a riverside path. As anglers, the Oberteich contains eel, perch, bream, pike, carp, roach, tench and pike-perch. The inflow takes place from the west on the Rupensdorfer Bach, where also more extensive lakes and ponds, such as the Rupensdorfer ponds and the reed pond, are connected with a carp breeding plant.
