The Puerta de Santiago already existed in Roman times and has been totally modified. It has been known since the 12th century as Puerta del Posticu, Porticu and Postigo. All these names are related to the existence of a shutter framed within a larger door. It measures 4.5 meters wide, the height up to the keystone is 5.50 meters and up to the walkway, 6.90 meters.
