The Globe de la Francophonie is a sculpture on the left bank in La Rochelle.
On this globe, each French-speaking country is represented by a village and the oceans are hollowed out.

Best strategic viewpoint at the entrance to La Rochelle's old port next to a sculpture of the globe indicating where the French language (colonialism?) has left its mark. The waterfront park with shaded seating and drinking water fountains is great for a rest.

There's a new sculpture of the globe showing France's influence (make your own judgement of this) around the world. Great view of the old port with a park that has plenty of picnic benches and public water fountains to fill up.
