The Ranger Station and Old Harbor Life-Saving Station Museum to the east is located on Race Point Beach, Cape Cod's northernmost beach. The Old Harbor Life-Saving Station is managed by the Cape Cod National Seashore and is a historic site that showcases the efforts of the U.S. Life-Saving Service in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Built in 1897 in Chatham, the station was relocated to Provincetown in 1977 to preserve its legacy. It served as a vital hub for rescuing shipwreck victims along Cape Cod's dangerous coastline. Today, the station features exhibits and demonstrations, including beach apparatus drills performed by staff dressed in period uniforms.
