Chapel of the Nobili, Tropea
The news about the historical-constructive events of the chapel or the noble church are not easy to reconstruct due to the lack of reliable bibliographical sources; What is known can be traced back to a scholar's notes, from which certain dates can be deduced. The chapel began to host towards the dinner of the '500 the confraternity called precisely "of the nobles", officially called "Confraternity of the Whites of San Nicola"; Born with the name "S.Maria in Albis e S.Nicola", she was the first guest of the church of the hospital outside the city walls, where she carried out exclusively the mission of charity and service to the sick. Over time, as the hospital did not have a chapel capable of accommodating all the confreres in the assembly, the current noble chapel was used for this purpose.
