excellent alternative to the climb from Limonetto. After the October 2020 flood in the Roya valley, the car tunnel was closed (maybe it will reopen in 202-may). Border traffic in the summer months now goes up from the Limonetto road and then down via the old road of 50 hairpin bends. So cars get hit for the normal climb more than in the past. This one, on the other hand, is not very busy (it's a long path now, paved in places), even if it has some steep sections... and in any case it is definitely better landscape-wise and historically speaking.
