With the steam train of the Swabian Forest Railway between Schorndorf - Rudersberg - Welzheim

Did you know that the history of the Swabian Forest Railway dates back to 1911? The route between the starting point in Schorndorf and the terminus in Welzheim is around 22.9 km long. And it has it all: The railway line through the Swabian Forest is one of the most beautiful and steepest in Baden-Württemberg.

Operations up to Welzheim were suspended for more than twenty years – in the summer months the historic steam and diesel trains are finally going full steam again on all Sundays and public holidays. A unique destination not only for technology enthusiasts, but also for families and day trippers. The individual stations invite you to a varied discovery tour. There are also unusual special trips such as the "Waldbahn Wanderbar", the "Schlemmerexpress" or "Der Gin & Weg, Gin-Express".

A nostalgic ambience in the historic carriages, the sounds of the hard-working steam engine and a fantastic view of green valleys - enjoy a unique railway journey through the Swabian Forest.
