Please check local regulations for: Réserve naturelle du Frankenthal-Missheimle
The Frankenthal-Missheimle National Nature Reserve is located in the heart of the Hautes-Vosges, on the Alsatian slope of the Hohneck massif. In the Quaternary, a succession of glacial cirques formed between the Hohneck and the Tanet on the Alsatian slope of the Hautes-Vosges. Their rugged terrain forms a wild and spectacular landscape, which is the origin of its classification as a nature reserve. With a length of almost 6 km, it represents, with its pronounced alpine character and its glacial cirques, one of the most prestigious sites in the massif. A large number of natural habitats form a mosaic of environments: subnatural forests, rocky slopes and cliffs, glacial cirques, stubble, meadows and peat bogs.
