At this location you are standing in front of the old Burgundian gate, also called the gate of Image, the former former gate of the fortified city of Mézières. These two twin towers were ruled from ruin in the 1960s, but curiously served as foundations for the neighborhood's residential buildings called "the Citadel", built in the 1960s.
