Jernbanestien was a Danish private railway between Maribo and Rødby, inaugurated in 1874, extended to Rødbyhavn in 1912, closed in the 1960s. An almost 18 km long rail cycle path was opened on the old route in 2019. There is a rest area at the old gravel pit in Bursø that invites you to linger.

Even in summer the route is very shady and cold due to the many trees. At first I was surprised that scooters also drive here, but that's probably allowed in DK. It is not the quickest and shortest route from Rødby to Maribo, but it is relaxed and worth seeing.
