Nice area route. In a few places there are trees across the path.

Hiking
A levada hiking trail on Madeira leads you almost level along narrow irrigation channels through dense forests, terraced fields, and past steep slopes. The gentle babbling of the water constantly accompanies you, while views of deep valleys, villages, and the Atlantic Ocean repeatedly open up. Depending on the section, the path is generally easy to walk, but sure-footedness and a head for heights may be required in narrow or exposed sections.
