Although this is a cycle way and part of the National Cycle Route 26, it's often not the greatest way from Dorchester to Weymouth due to the fact in certain sections you're parallel to the busy main road Coming this this hill into Dorchester at night time you'll have vehicle lights almost blinding you. A nicer way is via Came Down and into Preston and along the seafront or via Martinstown and Goulds Hill. Furthemore the cycleway at times gets quite narrow and into weymouth you can have quite a few pedestrians

Road cycling

It is a traffic free way into Weymouth that is pretty well traffic free. Not the loveliest route in but you are segregated from the roads.
