This fortified stone circle is close to the path. The terrain slopes down to the west, so that you have a special view over the Gulf of Kalamata from here!
According to our Greek host, it is a threshing floor:
"This is a round, flat surface used for threshing (separating the fruit from the straw) grain (wheat, barley, etc.). It is made of upright, rectangular, 50 cm high slabs of stone or dry stone (stones without clay) surrounded. The ground is shaped to be straight and hard on which livestock such as oxen or horses walk while baling and threshing the grain."
