But the original arrangement of the complex as it is today was carried out by the Gargantinos who, Milanese merchants, bought it in the 1700s from Cesare Cavenago, the feudal lord of Trezzo.
When Cavenago decided to build his palace on the Adda, he sold the other appurtenances of the fortress of Trezzo, such as the villa which the Gargantinos later adapted.
They did so by modifying the noble part, from which 16th century decorations emerged.

The president of the Pro Loco, architect Luca Ratti, reports that the Gargantinos were leather merchants, but this Ambrogio Gargantino turned out to be a soldier in the fortress of Trezzo around the year 1645.
