The Ottoman-style Çarshi Mosque, Stone Mosque or Sultan Murad Mosque, stands at the intersection of Agim Ramadani and Nazim Gafurri streets, at the entrance to the old town.
The Çarshi Mosque is one of the oldest Islamic sacred buildings in Kosovo. It was built by Sultan Bayezid I in 1393 to commemorate his father Sultan Murad I, who died at the Battle of the Blackbird Field, and the triumph of the Ottoman troops over the Christian defenders.
