Hiking
Flakstad Kirke is the second church on this square. The first was built in 1430 from driftwood and was very small. Since it was badly affected by the recurring storms, it was decided to build a new one. In order to continue to hold services, the new church was built around the old one. When this was completed in 1780, the old one was torn down and the rubble was disposed of through the door of the new one. Some items from the old church are still preserved.
