Roman burial mounds used to be here.

The predominant form of burial during the Older Roman Empire (mid-1st to early 3rd century) was cremation under burial mounds. The dead were burned in vessels at the stake with clothing and jewelry, food and drink and then buried. A large mound of earth was heaped over the grave.

The most important finds from the excavations can be seen in the exhibition at the Roman Museum in St. Martin.

There is also a shady rest area with a table and benches.
