Ottweiler (Saar) station is located on the Nahe Valley Railway, opened in 1860. Since 1937, the Ottweiler–Schwarzerden railway line (Ostertalbahn) has branched off in Ottweiler, where, among other things, a heritage railway operates special tourist services.
The station building, built in 1877, is one of the oldest in Saarland and is a listed building. The two-story, plastered, gable-fronted building with a slate gable roof is located west of the railway tracks. The arcades are designed in the round-arch style.
In 2012, the station building was sold to the city of Ottweiler. Following renovations, it now houses the Ottweiler Public Library.

Ottweiler station connects history and the present. It has been a hub on the line between Saarbrücken and Bad Kreuznach since the 19th century. The listed station building recalls times gone by, while today, modern regional trains stop here.💡 Tip:
A good starting or ending point for hikes along the Blies River or through Ottweiler's old town – the path into nature begins right at the platform.
