Directly opposite the parking lot, Rijkswaterstaat has built a watchtower for a view over the various chambers of the Volkerak locks. The largest lock complex for inland vessels in Europe. At the first chamber, the bridge of the A29 sometimes also has to be removed because of the height of the ships.
