The Gellenbeck Mill was first mentioned in documents in 1273. After being destroyed in the Thirty Years' War, it was rebuilt in 1637 and expanded in 1688. Further renovations and, in some cases, complete reconstructions took place around 1890 and 1929. In 1990, the mill was restored to its state at the end of the 19th century.
