Silbersee Tunnel at Hüggel

The Silbersee tunnel on the hill between Hagen and Hasbergen is one of the highlights in the natural and geopark Terra Vita, which is currently seeking a UNESCO award. There are many stories about Silver Lake. The tunnel is accessible today only because the silver lake has dried up a few years ago. In the past the area was a popular adventure playground, but at the time only divers came into the caves. Today, the Terra-Vita Nature Park offers guided tours through an underground tunnel, where a lake was not even ten years ago. After heavy rains the tunnel is still inaccessible due to flooding.
