Freudenberg's town hall was built in 1499 when Count Asmus was expanding the castle. An inscription on the town hall reads: "Asmus Graf zu Wertheim". The year 1499 can also be found on the basement.
The town hall has been used in many ways over the years - including as a school building.
Today the house is still used as the town hall, making it one of the oldest buildings still used in this function. There is also a museum in the house.
The colorful city coat of arms is particularly characteristic.
