The Blauwbrug crosses the Amstel and connects Amstelstraat and Waterlooplein. The third bridge at this point owes its name to a previous building whose wooden parts were painted blue. The 3 arch current bridge was created in 1883 in reference to bridges over the Seine in Paris.
