The best time to cross this river is early morning until noon, otherwise the water level will be too high to cross safely. There is no log/tree that will bring you from one side to the other and the alternate option will add 2 miles to the PCT.

Usually a fallen tree and big boulders here offer a quick dry crossing. Right after the snowmelt this might be different; There is an alternate trail beginning here that stays on the east bank for a while until after the next big crossing.
Early in the season water levels are often lower in the morning, before the rising sun melts snow that may still linger in the upper elevations.
