The walk begins at the idyllic Eilbek Canal and leads past houseboats to the Outer Alster Lake. From there we continue to Lange Reihe, one of the busiest streets in Hamburg. When you exit Friedrichsberg S-Bahn station, turn right under the tracks into Friedrichsberger Park. The path leads along the small Wandse, which is idyllically hidden under the trees. When the weather is nice, the park is a popular destination for relaxing, sunbathing or barbecuing. The piece of green in the district of Barmbek-Süd is correspondingly lively. The path through the park ends when you meet Friedrichsberger Strasse, which you cross and continue the walk straight onto Lortzingstrasse. The Wandse disappears on this stretch, as does the park, but reappears immediately as the Eilbek Canal. Before that, the view falls on the Eilbeker Reconciliation Church with its red walls. This is the youngest of the three Eilbeker churches and was built from 1916 to 1920, the tower was completed in 1925. It continues along the canal and at the latest when you hit Von-Essen-Straße, you should cross over to the left bank. There the path leads through a wider green strip. When this ends, you change back to the right bank over the Richardstraße bridge. There, a footpath continues along the Eilbek Canal, past an impressive building complex - the University of Applied Sciences. After the Wartenau Bridge, the Eilbek Canal widens to the Kuhmühlenteich. The center slowly announces itself behind the subway bridge. A short time later you have arrived at the Outer Alster and enjoy the fantastic view over the water to the city's landmarks, which tower up on the other side of the river. Shortly before you turn left, take a quick look at the Alster panorama and continue the path after crossing the street An der Alster in the Lohmühlenstraße. But only for a short time, because soon you will turn right into Lange Reihe, one of the liveliest streets in Hamburg. Cafés alternate with restaurants and a hustle and bustle develops. You just have to stop at one of the shops to soak up the flair of the street. A life-size image of an original from the Hanseatic city stands in front of the entrance: the bronze statue of Heidi Kabel. The walk finally ends with this meeting with a genuine Hamburg girl.
