There are considerations to reconnect this to the Neisse and to reactivate it.
For a long time, the Volksbad was a popular and lively meeting place for the people of Görlitz. Swimming is no longer possible there, the ponds are littered and too rich in nutrients, the latter partly due to the anglers feeding the fish.
