Hohenwalde is a small village with about 450 inhabitants. The church is a plastered rectangular building with a hipped roof and a tower. The inauguration took place in 1607, the client was Ehrentreich von Röbel. In 1794 the church received the plastered tracery on the top of the tower. In 1869 an organ was installed in the church by the Wilhelm Sauer company, and the church underwent a transformation. The church has a richly designed Renaissance altar.
