Beginning of the Ponale route. Until 1992 the “Vecchia Ponale” was the only road linking Riva del Garda and Valle di Ledro. Named after its creator Giacomo Cis, it was closed to traffic in 1995 and reopened in 2004 as a path for hiking or biking, today a gravel and MTB paradise.

Hiking
The October sun shines on the Ponale in the morning and there are wonderful views. Outstanding, breathtaking and great - simply a must for hikers and cyclists, although it can get crowded so pay attention to the time, day and season.
