This stone says that in 1846 a "Spielmann" (wandering musician), who had stopped off at the upper "Schenk" inn in the evening, became a victim of the crime. He boasted about the money he had with him, drawing the attention of those present. After he made his way to Crottendorf at night, he was ambushed by someone at the edge of the forest at point 713.3, who had heard about all the money. The same killed the poor minstrel, who was actually only carrying a few pennies. For the sake of completeness, it should be said that the murderer, a certain Uhlig, was caught days later. After the crime he roamed the woods. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison. At the scene of the crime, the "robbery and murder stone" was erected with the inscription: Robbery and murder 1846. 32 on sheet 90/1: Saturday, October 17, 1846: Christian Friedrich Leberecht, Zeuner, former marionette player, place of residence Chemnitz, age 59 1/2 years.
