It is made up of a large central pedestal on which Neptune, god of the waters, appears sitting on top of a dolphin, wearing a tunic and a laurel wreath. He is holding a pitcher in his right hand and a pitchfork in his left. This part was made by Mariano Salvatierra, who also made the lion of the San Isidoro fountain. In the lower part of the fountain and surrounding the pedestal there are three tritons with two geese, the work of the sculptor Félix Cusac, also the author of the angel sharks in the Plaza del Grano fountain.
