Kälberfeld is idyllically situated at the foot of the Hörselberg and has around 270 inhabitants. The Thuringian town chain runs through the village and there are now asphalted connecting cycle paths both in the direction of Schönau (Eisenach) and in the direction of Sättelstädt (Gotha), which can also be used by racing bikes.
