In the area of today's bulwark below the monastery church, the community of Kloster on the eastern shore of Lake Malchow has always had the opportunity to land goods and freight or load them onto boats.
In 2007, plans were drawn up to renew the shore fortification
as a bulwark, and it was completed in December 2009.
