A thousand-year-old village nestled on the hillsides on the edge of the Bellême forest, La Perrière reveals, along its picturesque streets, imposing buildings and colorful houses to which the Roussard stone gives this typically Percheron look. The village reached its peak in the middle of the 19th century with the activity of embroidery, and the technique known as "beaded net". During this period its population exceeded 1,000 inhabitants. It only numbers a little over 200 souls now.
