Originally Sant Miquel de la Cot was a small Romanesque temple. This is confirmed by the few remains preserved on the facade of the current factory. The bell tower can be seen marked and the remains of a post-Romanesque door can also be seen. The seismic movements of the 15th century collapsed much of the building, which was rebuilt and extended at the end of the 18th century following the neoclassical style. It is currently a temple with a single nave, with a choir that extends in the form of a triforium giving rise to side chapels. All the saints in the interior are of the Olotine school.
Until the second half of the 16th century, the church did not begin to be provided with ornaments and objects of worship. The main altar was built in 1863. As for the lintels, in the sacristy (left door of the presbytery) it says: "SOM POSADA VUI DIA 4 / D JUNY 1789".
