An interesting outcrop can be seen at Kalb Lake. Beneath a basalt layer up to 100 m thick lay a brown coal layer up to 50 m thick. This was dismantled until the 1950s. Despite the thick basalt layer, it was worth mining.

Mountain biking

Lignite was mined in the “Kalbe” mining area for 25 years. After mining stopped in 1974, the "Kalbesee" formed, which was around 30 m deep and around 20,000 m² in size.
