Before this place was covered,
The Heidenheimer experienced almost every one
Spring a flood
through the "monster", the whitewater
Frond. It almost looked like this
like in Venice, if the big one
Water damage would not have been.
Therefore, the frond was under the

Eugen Jaekle) and the Wedelbüble

Until 1930, Heidenheim experienced floods twice a year due to the Wedel River, which flowed along this riverbank. The fountain with the "Wedelbüble" (Wedel Boy) commemorates this. The fountain bears the inscription "When a raging monster burst through the town, the Jaekle's neck broke." Eugen Jaekle, the then mayor and lord mayor from 1903 to 1935, had the western and central sections of the Wedel covered, thus averting the danger of flooding. Eugen Jaekle is also an honorary citizen of the city.
The fountain figure, the "Wedelbüble," was created by the Stuttgart artist Fritz von Grävenitz.
