The von Seckendorffs shaped Meuselwitz for centuries.
Unfortunately, the castle was hit by an air raid during World War II. After the war, the rest of the castle was demolished to use the building material for houses.

The orangery was also hit by a bomb so that this building burned down.
The roof of the orangery collapsed a few years later: in 1954. Fortunately, the orangery building was rebuilt true to the original in the 1960s, so that from 1969 a museum opened here and concerts were even held here.

Originally there was once a moated castle, which was rebuilt into a castle in the 16th century. Count Friedrich Heinrich von Seckendorff then let the park in French-Dutch style create a baroque orangery. The building is the coronation of the park and once stood in an axis with the castle. During World War II the castle was destroyed and demolished in 1947.

The Seckendorff Park is located in the border triangle between Thuringia, Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt in Meuselwitz. It is beautifully designed and a popular destination. A particular highlight is the orangery.
