Beautiful old town surrounded by the former city fortifications, of which the Lucerne Gate with a clock tower and fresco from 1911 (Seraphin Weingartner) still exists at the southern entrance to the city and the Witches' Tower from the 13th or 14th century with a crenellated crown as the eastern corner pillar.

The Surseer Gate on the north side, on the other hand, is a reconstruction from 1985-1987.
