The Heimolen is a post mill from 1662
It is one of the last 130 wooden windmills in Flanders.
What makes it special is that it has remained in the same place since its foundation and that it has never been destroyed by fire or war. The current construction of the Heimolen is almost completely original. We deduce that the mill was never thoroughly renovated, not only from inscriptions in the mill, but also from various historical writings. Moreover, the mill itself betrays its origin: it is one of the very few windmills with a straight chapel roof - after 1700, curved chapel roofs were in vogue everywhere.

The mill is free to visit:
All year round, every 2nd and 4th Sunday from 10am to 1pm.
The mill is then open, but not in operation.
