The Portoč boat harbor forms the access to the approximately 1,600-meter-long and 500-meter-wide island of Lokrum, off Dubrovnik. The most convenient way to reach the island is by the nature reserve's official shuttle boats. The ships Zrinski and Skala shuttle regularly between Dubrovnik and Lokrum, with the crossing taking about 15 to 20 minutes.
It is important that you definitely catch the last boat, which usually departs around 6 p.m. This is because there are no overnight accommodation facilities on the island.
