In the center of Herbsleben stands today's St. Trinitatis Church, one of the most beautiful and largest village churches in Thuringia. Once mentioned as a Marienkirche in a document dated 28.01.1300, later as St. Wigbertus Church, it is said to have been founded by the assistant of St. Boniface, by the name of Wigbertus, in the years 731-736.
