This small church was built in 1741 by Giovanni Battista Carli di Asiago, Chancellor of the Regency of the 7 Municipalities. He had some huts for rent, run by his family.

The church served, then as today, to celebrate mass for the benefit of the Malghesi of Marcésina and surroundings.

Destroyed during the 1915-18 war, it was rebuilt using part of the stones recovered there.

Today it is a point of reference in the Piana di Marcesina, and certainly a gem not to be missed!

This small sanctuary in the mountains is dedicated to San Lorenzo, one of the early Christian martyrs from a time when Christianity was still strictly forbidden. He was the Pope's archdeacon and had been asked by the pagan Emperor Valerian to hand over the treasure of the church. Lawrence asked for three days, during which he distributed the church's wealth among the poor inhabitants of Rome and, after the agreed time, came to the emperor with the poor to present them to him as the treasure of the church. He was then tortured to death. Legend has it that he was roasted alive on a grill - this attribute can be seen in many depictions of Saint Lawrence - over coals. He is said to have been in good spirits and asked his executioner if he would turn him over.

The memorial day of San Lorenzo/Saint Lawrence in the calendar of saints is August 10th.
